Delta 88 pulley / belt problems. Anyone help ?

Hi all. Have a 1984 delta 88 coupe.
307 sb engine.

The belt that runs power steering has snapped and noticed a bit of power steering fluid under car after ticking over for few minutes.

then noticed that no pulleys were spinning with engine running. The alternator belt is still attched but that aint spinning either.

Bottom crank pulley spins but the cam pulley does not.

any ideas.

Yeah, that sounds like the water pump seized. That cam pulley above the crank should easily turn. Only the power steering and A/C pulley drive off the crank. Is the A/C belt still there? I can't be removed without belt squealing and eventually breaking like your power steering belt. Loosen the alternator belt, then that water pump pulley should easily turn.

The pulleys turn by hand but dont spin when engines running. Also seems that their is no ac pump.
i have only 2 belts.
one to fan and alternator (which is still on)
and one for power steering to fan and crank.

Without the power steering, they will not turn. You need either different brackets and pillows or the A/C compressor or a delete pulley, you need the 3rd belt or it will just break again.

Ahh got you. That makes perfect sense now.
dont suppose you know of any available kits regarding delete pully, or would it purely have to be a custom job. Also thanks for the help.

Dorman has multiple A/C delete pulleys. Trick is finding one to work. Running a non functioning A/C compressor is the other trick, as long as the bearing is good. It is either that or non A/C brackets pulleys and shorter 5.6" water pump. Olds made thing complicated, there is also multiple spacers that must be in place or the belts will sit cockeyed. Good luck.

Ahh nightmare man.
the previous owner must of took the unit out as the ac unit is gone.
Sounds easier to just get a replacement ac unit ?

Yes, hopefully all the brackets are included with the car. Yeah, I did the same thing when I was young and foolish, you know gain power. Pretty sure A/C draws a tiny amount of power.
