Decoding a 307 3GP355043

I purchased a 71 Cutlass S for a parts car and this shortblock was in the trunk. I believe its for an 80 Oldsmobile but am not sure. Any help decoding it would be greatly appreciated.
Casting code is 4790GM5.0LG
The Stamped code is 3GP355043
Thanks

Looks like a 1986-1990 roller cam 307 short block.

mjrj is correct. It's a 1986 roller cam 307 out of a Cutlass. The G is the model year in the partial vin. Car was built in Pontiac, MI.

And just to add to this thread, 1980 was the first model year where GM used a letter for the model year instead of a digit in the VIN and VIN derivative. A = 1980, B = 1981, etc. That makes G = 1986.

Thanks very much for the information. There were two other other items that were not 7i olds items in the car. The split bench seat is a six way power seat and I assume the bucket seats out of a Pontiac. Could the bench seat be out of the same car as the engine. Thanks a lot to everyone for the information you’ve been sharing.

The bucket seats are F-body.

The bench does look like it's 1980s vintage.

Thank you Joe. Next I need to find the value and get them moved to make space for the disassembly of my car.
