In 1972 it would not have had a metal pie pan as the 1960's vintage cars had. It would have had a decal that was glued to the center section of the air cleaner. Most repop companies should have them, try Fusick or YearOne and see what they've got. John
Fusick is on page 104 of their Cutlass/442 catalog. http://www.fusick.com/catfile/Catalo...yout%20100.pdf

Well from what my father has told me, it was a black metal pie pan with Rocket 350 on it. I dont know if my father jus took it off another cutlass or it was stock. What kind of air cleaner did the 72 Cutlass Supreme have?

OK, here's a link to an ebay auction with a 2 bbl air cleaner. This has the correct decal for your year.

Then here's a 1968 air cleaner with the pie pan. The center is an aluminum disc that's held on by the large center chrome "washer" under the wing nut.

Let me know if you still have questions about the difference between the two.

To my knowledge 1969 was the last year for the aluminum plate. Toronado may have used it in 70, but definitely none after that.
Saw a 1967 Climatic Combustion Control aircleaner at Fall Carlisle Thursday. If it had been a 4-barrel version I'd have got it just to have something different. But since nothing I have is 2-barrel...

The black one is actually the lid of the air cleaner housing with a decal attached to it. You can by the decal repop, I think $7.00 at Fusick. If you need an air cleaner housing post a parts wanted ad. Also if you don't have your location under your name include the city and state to give folks an idea how spendy shipping would be. John
