64 330 Intake 45 Degree?

Hi guy’s I’m new to all this and created an account hear to see if anyone can answer a question I have not been able to get a concrete answer on. I have been restoring and modifying my 64 Cutlass for several years now. I got this car from my Grandfather 30 years ago and had dreamed of all the ways I would soup it up since I was a teen. I have recently considered installing an Ofenhouser Tri power manifold. I see in their catalog they list Tri power manifolds for 64 and earlier Olds’s. I also understand that the pre 66? 330’s are a 45 degree bank angle. The casting numbers on my manifold are 380059 with a casting date 331. Other casting marks are wheel + D1. All this tells me it was cast on the 331 day of 1963. Does anyone know if the Offy Tri power manifolds for 1959-1964 Olds fit this engine? I’m not sure if the 45 degree bank angle will work with a standard 1966 + 330 manifold. Thanks for any help.

A 59-64 intake will not fit. The 64 330 was the start of the new generation small block Olds.

Good luck!!!

According to a chart I have, a #1 or #1A block is 45 degrees. #2 block is 39 degrees.

The 39 deg vs 45 deg distinction refers to the angle of the lifters in the block. This has nothing to do with the intake manifold. All small block Olds motors from 1964-1990 are dimensionally the same. The only SBO intakes that are at all different are the ones for the 260 motors and the ones for the roller cam 307 motors with 7A heads. Those applications are different due to the very tiny intake ports in the heads. The intakes will still bolt on, but the port mismatch will cause a flow disruption. And no one makes a tri-carb intake that fits a small block Olds. Offy did make a dual quad intake for the SBO, but I don't think they are still in production. I would not use one on the street anyway, they are a poor single plane design. There are also a handful of rare factory experimental Weber intakes that occasionally come up for sale. They are not inexpensive.

I believe Offy does a once a year run on products, I believe it is one of the children behind it. Either way there are no cool intakes that actually work well in multiple carbs for the SBO. Also aluminum valve covers are non existent new other than expensive Offy, with iffy quality. Sorry the fabricated valve covers look like ***. Edelbrock re released their cast aluminum line of air cleaners and valve covers for nearly everything, including AMC but not Olds! Go with a 2711 Performer, if they have them in stock again or a Performer RPM, really the only two decent options.
