355 build

Now that i have most of the parts for this build i will start thread. A lot of these parts i bought used in the classifieds on this site. So far i have the original 350 from my 72 that i had sleeved and bored .30 over, a 330 crank i just got back from the machine shop, stock rods with forged flat top pistons, performer rpm intake. I am going to order rings and bearings this weekend now that i have my crank back and i know what size bearings i need. I am undecided on cam at the moment but i am thinking of going with a solid flat tappet. I’m hoping to purchase a set of the new Edelbrock small block heads depending on delivery date. I will get the short block assembled and see if there is anymore info on a release date. I dont want to order a cam until i know what heads i am running. I do not have any specific goals for this engine but it will make its way into the 64 at some point this summer.

I purchased another 350 that had a recently rebuilt set of heads. So now i have a good set of heads to do some porting on, I’m going to leave the stock valves in them as i plan on swapping to the new Edelbrocks when they come out. Now i have to decide on a camshaft.

It is forged steel, which means it is stronger.
