330 intake swap

I am swapping intake’s on my 330. The performer intake will not sit flat because the valley tray is in the way. Should i remove this piece or trim it so the intake will fit? I am using a performer intake by the way.

What gasket are you using? If you want a tray, pick up the Felpro 96009 turkey tray gasket and just use it with RTV around both sides of the 4 water ports and a good tall bead of RTV on both end rails instead of the gaskets. I use Aviation sealant around the intake and crossover ports as well.

Agreed, the turkey tray style gasket can be used instead of that valley tray.

Just adding this piece of info -> a Performer RPM is preferable over the standard Performer intake. My 67 4-barrel iron intake had bigger intake runners than the Performer. I think the Performer intake was probably an improvement over the smog heads or maybe better than a 2-barrel intake, but if you haven't already installed the intake, would be wise to go with a performer RPM if you can.
