1957 Oldsmobile J2

Hello:

My '57 Olds 98 has a single 4 barrel, and I recently acquired an air cleaner and a tri power set up for it. Problem is the throttle linkage. It appears to be set up the same, only shorter on the tri power. Should I just shorten the linkage from the 4 barrel?

Thanks

Yes, unless you can find an original part. There is a guy that builds knock off linkage for the J-2. I have seen his adds before

If the threaded rod doesn't have enough adjustment to shorten the rod itself, you could 'chase' the current threads with a threading die, and cut them 1-2" deeper for more adjustment.
Buy the tools @ Sears, and return them, CLEAN, when done - kinda sleazy, but cost effective!
