Anyone going to listen to me yet

The spam here is so past rediculous I am tired of even reporting it. Its time for a simple manual authorization of new users.

I've been fighting the RealLiveCasino since 4:30 a.m. Sorry, I'll try to stay on top of it.

I've sent a few PM's to the bosses to see if they can not be blocked from posting more.

My point is you shouldn't have to as I have said many times before. Its real easy to not let them in in the first place with a manal approval of users. This is the only place I have even seen this problem.

There has got to be a way to eliminate these multipule spam hits on the threads. I just deleted 6 Casino spams on a single thread. I have put this up for discussion on the moderators forum

My wife wonders what kind of site this is after she saw XXXPORNOXXX on the top posters list. Is there anyway to remove that so I don't always have to explain it to her?

I've reported a few, but they are always about sex (sorry guys) and they were taken off within 15 minutes. It was basically links that I suppose, could have been a virus.

I agree, I am reporting one or two every morning

worst part is I have to wait 60 seconds (or 30 or whatever) before I can report the next one.

I would suggest that the Admin update the site to the Jelsoft vBullitin v.3.8. Also add the vBaCMPS, it's free and includes the Human Verification Manager which will solve the issue with spam. I always verify each individual new user for www.78-88olds.com and permenantly block all spam IP addresses so they cannot reregister once banned or deleted.

This crap is past the point of being absurd. If something is not done, it will ruin this site. I am really tired of getting emails about **** and from RealLiveCasino.

Dan, you guys need to get this taken care of. It ain't gonna go away.

I am fortunate, I haven't received any SPAM solicitations at my e-mail address. It does get old reporting all the SPAM on the website though. It would be great if there were an easy way to fix it. My wife told me the other day that ClassicOldsmobile was a "bad" website because of all the SPAM.

Obviously this getting to the point that something else needs to be done. I am looking into the manual verification option. I have asked Paul if it is possible. Mike, thanks for the specific recommendations.

I'll look into what we can do about this, again. Problem is, soon as we do one thing to get rid of spam, they find a way around it and are right back again. But I'll see what I can do.

What we should do is load a killer virus on our website that seeks out and destroys all commies that post about "bad" stuff. Including how to put a Chevy engine in their Olds.

Do those annoying windows where you have to read the jumbled up letters work? I have noticed a lot of sites have gone to that to join.

The New Version of jelsoft security works very well, I am a mod on another forum and we had the hardest time battling these things, we upgraded and shazaam problem nearly gone, I mean the top poster has 4,000,000 posts? and his name is xxxpornoxxx??? but it is an unseen and unrewarding job the mods and admins have there are tons of things being done behind the scenes that they get no credit for

THANK YOU Mods!!

Whatever someone with the kind of intelligence to solve these problems can do please try! I for one and I know I speak for probably every other person who gets good honest info, use, and fun as well as the friendships through the hobby that have been made, will be eternally grateful. It's to the point where I can hardly access the site some days anymore, and tonight took me ten minutes just to get in...Thanks in advance gentlemen!

I have not received any spam related to this site. Maybe it has to do with the security software that I am running on my system.

Fix this problem by getting your wife a netbook for some occasion. Wifey doesn't use my comp anymore and I don't use hers. That way, no explanations are ever needed.

I am now off to go pick up my freshly rebuilt 425 from Ideal Supply. Too bad I have to dump $1500 to liberate it.

Guys, note the date... this thread was back in January. Spam is all better now - but thanks for the confirmation, too.
