It has to be 140x140 OR 19.5KB, whichever is smaller. Open the picture using Microsoft Paint, or whatever you use to edit pictures. Toy around with the attributes of the image, trying to get it to fit those parameters. Also, make sure you save as either .jpg or .jpeg, NOT .bit.
If all else fails, if you send me the picture, I may be able to get it to the proper specifications.

Which is roughly 11KB. Hmm. interesting. It's all well within the forum limits. Only thing I can think of is to try submitting a full-size picture as your avatar and letting the forum convert it down. That's what I did with mine, instead of shrinking it myself. Otherwise, it would appear as if I can be of no further help on this topic.

I did a quick test and poked the server a bit. And found that it is actually serving up an image that is 80px x 80px.
So that is almost positively what is getting saved to the server. Its possible yet unlikely that the resizer doo-mahicky that runs when uploading a pic is broken only for you (It worked properly for my test just now).
I would be much more suspect of how/what you are using to resize the image on your computer. Are you just using MS Paint? Or some other tool? I have ran into crappy graphics programs simply lying to me about what size things were.
Might try the tool that I use for all my images; its a Microsoft XP PowerToy called Image Resizer.
You can find it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx (dl link is right side of that page toward the bottom)
Just install it then right click on any image file and there will be a new "Resize Pictures" option... very simple to use and the most reliable tool I have come across.
