Photo Gallery

Just wondering if we are supposed to be able to make personal photo galleries or not. The system gives me a permissions error when it tries to create a new directory.

Just wondering.

I you go to the User CP on top then to "Pictures & Albums" on the left you should be able to put together a private or public photo album.

We'll take a look and see what we can find. May be as simple as a switch not set in the admin cp for your account. Give us some time.

I have the same issue as in this post: My album is not visible in the Gallery section despite having an 'Album Type' of public. I've reviewed all permissions accessible to me, but couldn't make it work. Any assistance is appreciated.

As I promised earlier (and forgot, sorry) I will get an answer for you guys. The lack of response is completely my fault, I just forgot to follow up on it. Sorry.

About not being able to load pictures, be sure the file size is within limits. If they are too large you will have to use a photo management program to downsize them. One way I do that is to convert them to jpg if they aren't already.

File size, dimensions, and type are all critical. If you try to upload anything that is outside of the allowable file size, picture dimensions, or file type, if will error out. Beyond that, I've poked around in the gallery and found nothing wrong so far, but I'm still looking. I believe both the Gallery and Albums are plug ins. Not sure who authored them, but we have problems with each as they seem to be somewhat buggy.

Can you tell me specifically the error you're getting? And where exactly are you trying to upload them again, the Gallery or?

I am having the same issue, have an album with pics. It is set to public, but does not show up when viewing the galleries. I can view it through my user CP.

My issue was just that my gallery didn't show up after uploading the pics. I can view them in my User CP just not the gallery.

Betcha what happened here is your pics got associated with another user. Poke around and see if you can find them, and if you do, I can probably fix.

Problem is the gallery is 3rd party software, a plug in to vBulletin that this forum runs on, and it's buggy. Worse still it doesn't seem to play nicely with the current version of vBB we're on.

I've asked Internet Brands to look into upgrading it, but never heard back. I'll follow up with that and see if we can get them to do so. With luck, that'll fix all the problems.

In the mean time, we're on our own. Find me the missing pics and I'll see if I can't get them hooked to your profile again. Sorry I can't do more.
