What Eric is telling you in easier to understand terms is you need to reduce the electronic footprint of your picture using your picture editor. If your picture is say 3MB in size, it needs to come down to about 1128 KB so the site picture feature will accept the upload. Either that or put the full size picture on a hosting service like Flickr and copy the [IMG] URL and paste it into the picture feature. That way you can retain the full scale imagery of the picture as CO will simply link the picture to your thread. The only downside is that if you ever move or delete your picture on the hosting service, or discontinue the hosting service the embedded picture will no longer show here.

Just download and install this. It's the fastest and easiest way to resize photos. It's free. I use it ALL the time. Resize one photo or a million at once. Save as a copy or replace the original. Use the preset sizes or make your own.
