A quick summary for those at home keeping track
#242
Also signifies the year I was born, which makes it even cooler. That is good news on paint color. Do you know if there are normally any marks over by the master cylinder? I didn't clean there yet.
#243
That was my plan all along. Figure anyone doing a full restore will be painting the areas they attach to anyway. Plus a new sticker will stick out like a sore thumb. That's exactly why I didn't replace the washer fluid bottle. It is miscolored a bit, but a new washer fluid tank will only look good once fully restored.
#245
I was just looking at the under the hood pic that I took when I first got the car here in NC. Is this the "W" on the fender Stefano was referencing or is it a dust trail? I'm going out to the car now to see what's there now, but I bet it is gone.
#246
The W on the fenders was to tell what emblem holes were punched in it. It would have only been found on the finder itself.
#247
I could have sworn I saw pics of grease pencil on the inner red fenders before. Maybe I've been researching too much...yes, I probably have...
Check this out!!!!! Grabbed a wet rag I had from drying off the F-85 in order to start cleaning the inner hood. I found another date!!!!
Eric, you probably already have seen this...but I haven't since I'm normally looking the engine from the front. Pic:

Yes, I love seeing it all. I figure it is also my responsibility to post as much as I can about the car so others can learn from it like I have learned from many of their photos/posts.
I worked as a lot guy just out of high school for a dealership. So the cleaning I'm used to. You should have seen some of those trades. YUCK!
Did some cleanup on the exhaust trumpets today. They will of course go with the car, along with any other parts that I have. Eric gave me back a whole box full. The master cylinder still needs rebuilt, but he painted the outside of the reservoir and the lid for it is completely refinished with the shiny gold stuff. Pics of the trumpets...they turned out pretty good. Included the jar for advertising purposes...haha, that stuff really does work wonders.

Replaced all bulbs with these correct T-3 bulbs. Thanks to Oldspackrat and tru-blue 442 for providing them. Had a little trouble with the one screw but used some PB blaster and let it sit a while. Turned out great and looks like it should now:

And one other thing I needed to post, the original master cylinder is going with the car too. It has been refinished, but it needs rebuilt. In order for Eric to get the car road tested and be safe, I just ordered a master cylinder that worked with the car. so we wouldn't have to wait. I know he mentioned someone who rebuilds them and does a great job and I can get the contact info. Just not sure on a turn time. Pic of the refinished master cylinder:

Now I want to list some of Eric's notes:
Toro oil pan
No valves stuck!
Pushrods look nice on ends.
Rocker pivots look good
Core support in outstanding condition!
Shroud - great condition
Noticed oil pressure sending unit is original with 266 1969 date code
Original intake, does not appear to have ever been off
KM waterpump pulley
KJ crank pulley
Thermostat housing rare 5 casting
R caliper 259 cast date 267 assemble date
L caliper 242 cast date 267 assemble date
Master cylinder EB code 260 cast date
Brake valve by master cylinder 9 251 date
Also has notes on carb disassembly and compression check but I'm going to ask him if he minds if I just take a picture of the pages and post because that way I won't have to type them all out.

HAHA!!! Thanks Eric. Interesting side note about me: I lost on "potatoes" in the 6th grade spelling bee.
Here are the carb disassembly notes and compression test results from April:

No news to report today, aside from the fact that I worked on a secret project. You'll see in a few weeks. Also talked to Steve Minore again today. He may be making the trip down to see the car. I'll keep you posted.
#271
Adding the options on the car. They are highlighted below. If anyone sees an error or omission to them, please let me know. Thanks.

Have a question about the dog dish cars and the spare tire. I just saw a W-30, not sure if real or not, but it claimed to have the original spare in the trunk and it was painted the body color. Is this correct? Or were the spare wheels black? Just wondering because the spare I have is black.
#275
#277
I guess I will have to make a trip down to the shed and get some good pics of that spare. If someone can point out to me where the date code is on the tire then I'll know where to look. I think I already have a wheel pic of the "XT" and a code in my gallery here, but I'll still look for additional markings on it.
#279
Ok, I got the pictures. I can see spots of Rallye Red on the wheel. And that spot around the valve stem makes me think that he just blacked out this spare with paint like he did the grille and the red fenders. Could someone please verify the date codes?
Please excuse the order of the pics. When I've been posting lately the uploader changes the order and then I go back and manually edit, but I'm not doing that here because there are so many. Sorry for the quantity, but I wanted to show everyone detail as best as I could.
