Question about Olds Custom Cruiser

In the link below there is an AWEOME 59 Super 88!

http://www.oldcaronline.com/1959-Old...e-ID731441.htm

Plus, there's what appears to be a rather trashy 1993 Chevy Caprice with an Olds Custom Cruiser hood on it.

This is probably a dumb question but here goes...

Does the Olds Custom Cruiser hood bolt directly to the 1991-1996 Chevy B/C body hinges? I've heard that the grill is different on the Buick Roadmaster wagon; if not all the B body wagons, requiring a different bumper.

Is there any truth to what I heard?

In all honesty, it's looks like a 93 98 Regency (maybe even a Delta 88)... I though the 93 Chevy had a one piece grille... I could be mistaken without seeing a little more of the car...

Yes indeed. Olds should have made a full-sized RWD sedan in the 90s but they didn't. Here is a pic of a 93 Chevy Caprice. Notice the shape of the window in the C pillar:

The Olds Delta 88 was a FWD H body car in the 90s. The 98 was also a FWD car, but was a C body. As far as I know, the last RWD car Olds made was the 91-92 Olds Custom Cruisers.

It's a Caprice with a whale-body (1991-92) Custom Cruiser nose added. GM wasn't trying very hard with the 1980-1996 B-body cars, and the wagons shared most external sheet metal with the Chevy versions. It is clearly not a FWD Delta 88 or 98.

Thanks for confirming, I thought that was what happened.

Really, the 91-92 OCC is getting pretty rare compared to the 91-96 Chevy Caprice and Buick Roadmaster wagons. I don't know if they will ever go up in value, but I surely wouldn't want to own one and be in a front end collision.

The only change is the grille itself... Regarding value, I don't think that the Olds examples will command the dollars that the Buicks get in identical condition. Partially because of a slightly more swanky interior, partially because the CC's were never offered with LT1. LT1 cars will command around $2-3000 more than pre 1994 examples.. When looking for a replacement for my crashed '92 CC, I specifically searched both Olds and Buick examples that were TBI cars. Partially for expense, but there were other considerations ie: full instrument cluster, non electronic OD, better quality interior, low clearance luggage rack. Besides, if I really wanted to amp up the power, I'd do a (gasp) LS conversion as opposed to the LT1. Also, I was involved with a frontal impact with my CC, it could have been very bad but the car took the brunt of the hit leaving me to walk away. Personally, I'd much prefer to be in an accident with a '92 B-body than a '70 A body any day..

That would make sense, I didn't give the chevy sedan/wagon relationship with the custom Cruiser a thought...

I recall your thread about the demise of your OCC.

FWIW, I didn't know the OCC wasn't available with the LT1. Here is an OCC that has been for sale near me for more than a year:
