I think your wrong about starting in 1970. I had a 67 442 that had the split bench seat with the center armrest. Also parted out a 66 442 that had the same seat.

I have used jute backing from the trunk insulation mat from newer cars. Cut it to size and use 3M spray adhesive. Looks factory!

They should be the same but the only difference...

They should be the same but the only difference you might find are the mounting saddles at the base of the support to hold the radiator in place. They unbolt from the bottom.
