My last weekend racing ( i think )

We spent the last 2 days there. Didnt go many rounds i still green in the driving the dept. and need more time on the tree. besides going out both days first round we went faster. No changes . This might be out last time out for the year . but everytime we went out we went faster. I couldnt ask for a better way to wrap up my summer.

First pass off the trailer went 12.70 @ 105 mph and a 1.83 60 ft.

Second pass was 12.68 with a 1.80 60 ft. and 105 mph.

our other passes where all in the low 12.70's with the exeption of the 12.80

I'm having a blast. Not my first time out. Sat out for 3 years until this past august. I'm just not the most competitive person. I'm having more fun seeing how fast I can get my build to go. We started the season with going 13.09 for the fastest pass. And ended it with a 12.68. Just doing minor stuff. Electric water pump drive , electric fans , tosing the front sway bar and just more wheel time.

I'm all for keeping it fun. Its a nice time of year to spend time out of doors. A little racing makes it all the better.

Thanks guy's . Didn't really turn a wrench all cruising season. Had the carb on and off a few times but the rest was piddly stuff. Probbably one of the funnest years in a long time with my car. Having a super supportive girl friend also helps . Makes it more enjoyable when she wants to go with.

Just piddly stuff I'm doing. Gonna inspect the engine , go to a street dominator intake , full roller rockers , ram air set up for fresh air, try a better 3000 stall converter . Relocation brakets for the rear suspension , and hopefully a new paintjob. Won't make it faster but it won't look as ugly lol.

You know that ugly can go fast...right? Just keep it safe, then the other stuff should fall into place.

Good luck with the changes. How ever you roll with them.

The sad part is it used to look amazing. The outside might look ugly but., its probably the better now than it was 7 years ago. The suspension is all sorted out and all new , new body bushings, did some reinforcing on the frame , replaced the firewall bushing mounts , all around its a totally diffrent car. Now that we got her running and performing good its time to make her look good again.

Well i lied. my high school buddies got together and went to byron dragway in byron il. which is our home track and i could not resist. Our first run was horrible 12.98 spinning em into the 60 ft. then on our second and last run of the day i went 12.63 @ 105.59 mph with a 1.83 60 ft. The track was packed so we loaded up the car and drove it home.
