Okay which hood scoop brings the best air to the carb?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that whatever they currently use in pro-stock is probably the best. Personally I can't stand aftermarket style scoops.

Yeah for their body style i agree but old school like our stuff i don't know.I am thinking about doing a cowl induction smoke test.Which i think these a not a good choice even though i have one on my 1967. Then i have a ram air box setup for my 1970 not keen on it. The 70 gets clean air as i took out two headlights for ducts. I just don't think it feeds enough air. I think the clean air is forward facing hood scoop.Smoke test would confirm my thought.

How about the big W-25 hood from Glasstek like Rallye Bob has? That would look pretty cool on your race car.

That would but my front end is a one piece fibberglass on rocket vapor. Now for the green car 1970 442 with gray primer front end it would just bolt on.

Glasstek actually sells just the taller scoops by themselves so you could have them grafted on to your current front end.

Chadman the victor intake with carb wouldn't fit the rocket vapor front end! So i cut it out to add a harwood scoop on top.Not bonded on yet but there is room now.

The answer to this question will be different for every different car. Typically, the base of the windshield, leading edge of the hood, and grille are the high pressure areas, but the benefits from those locations can be outweighed by losses and turbulence in ducting. The current ProStock scoops are designed to minimize drag and ducting losses while ingesting clean air above the turbulence around the hood. Optimizing will require putting the specific car and scoop in a wind tunnel, or making runs with instrumentation on the car.

Another thing to consider is visibility for a bracket racing car. I know a guy with a big hood scoop and he hates it because he has a hard time seeing the other car when he is coming up from behind if he himself is in the left lane.

That was what i am getting at. The smoke test proves which would be better on a running car by air flow and aero. Our car are not like the pro stock today which are aerodynamic ours are not and push air. That is why the air duct in the grill works just not big enough.

As low as my front end is on rocket vapor seeing isn't a problem. My real problem is getting headers to work! The guys when they mounted the body to chassis missed a measurement and created a problem that i still don't know how i am going to fix.
