Yes. The Olds 455 will respond well to the right Camshaft. Let me build you a Q-jet for it, and let's see what we can do about some compression. Also look at Headers to fit that car. But it may not be ready for our Mayy 11 BOP shootout. Come on out and watch and meet us and plan to race this Summer and make the Fall BOP.

You can do better than the cheater cam. There are lots of options.
If you're sticking with the stock rockers then obviously you'll need to limit the lift to around .500 and stay less aggressive on the lobe profile.

I have both flat tappets and rollers that will work with the stock stuff.

Compression will depend on what that 455 came out of, could be approx 9.0:1 or 10.0:1.

I ran the 328/348 Cheater in Big Red for years with small valve C heads and 9.0 to 1 compression. I liked it...ran 11.40 best, but unless you are building a class legal Stocker, then I agree with Mark and try to get a more modern profile with less .050 duration. I also like Bullet's Ultradyne cams...ran one that was 226 In 233 Ex with a .499 lift. very strong cam in a streeter.

Make sure you come see us on May 11 at the track.

thanks guys....I just figured the cheater cam would sound( cool) and still work with stock rockers.....ive looked at comp cams and stuff and 268 is about all I can go, because of lift.....wouldn't sound that good.....

now my problem is comp ratio.... I cant figure out which I have 9 or 10 to one
I looked at the oil tube its 8001390, which is 68 I guess
block is 396021f which is 68-72
still doesn't tell me comp.... the motors original color is (red)
so my next question is... how do I find out the comp ratio? is there another casting number that will help find out
