mounting a m90 supercharger to an olds
recently i picked up a free eaton m90 supercharger off a late 90's 3.8l gtp.
been playing with the idea of remote mounting it on the passengers side, and plumbing it like a procharger through a carb hat. yes i know it will probably max out too soon, and i might not be worth it. but i thought if it works cool. if it doesnt, well then i pull off the supercharger and bolt it to the wall of my shop.
if anyone has any advice, or has done something similar in the past feel free to pass on some info

i think its a great idea! I have had a supercharger like that for years in my posetion, one of these days ill probably put it on my jeep. I see 2 problems though. problem 1, you need to do some math to determine if you can get a small enough pulley to make that thing generate enough cfm to actually produce boost on the oldsmobile engine. those m90's will usually boost in stock form up to about a ford 302. but if you have a small block olds, and you pick up a hub and pulley kit from zzperformance or thrasher performance, you can produce much more cfm, second problem. it will have to be a blow through carb system, no if's and's or but's. if you were to do a pull through system and run gas and air through that charger, you will wash the rotor bearings down and cause it to seize. other than that, you also have to remember to a certain extent, camshafts are different for supercharged engines, you dont need anywhere near the duration on the intake side with a supercharger, however, it will still work without. talk to someone about the cfm on the charger vs the cfm on the engine, go from there, thats my .2 cents

it most deffinately will be a blow through set up. As for the carb, i will convert my demon 750 using hangar18 trick.
going to have to figure out what pulley size i need, might even need to do some minor porting to the sc to bump up cfm output
as far as a crank pulley, i was thinking of building a spacer and drilling out a old 302 crank pulley, any thoughts?
