Are you running Alf Wiebe suspension?

It sure leaves nice for a conventional set up, nice and square.
very impressive!

What are you running for springs and shocks up front?

Bernhard------The credit for leaving square is the big BMR sway bar --------Front --6 cyl. A body front springs with 1" aluminum spacer under drivers side and 1/2" under passenger side. Solid upper control arm bushings , Steel greasable lower arm bushings, Santhuff double adjustable shocks. Except for the rear bar and shocks it's pretty much standard stuff most everybody has been doing for 30 yrs. just tweeked to suit our set up.-----Danny

Love the pics of that '67 W30 on the hauler You just don't see many pics with race cars on them, especially vintage Oldsmobiles

I worked for Bendall Pontiac in 65 and was racing a SD 60 Pontiac Catalina at the time. Watched Sonny's cars run all the time but really didn't start to appreciate the Oldsmobile's especially the post sedans until 66. I was going to buy a new GTO to race but they pi$$ed me off at the dealership and I ordered a 66 W30 post sedan and never looked back. Sonny's 65 F85 post was one of my favorites , If I remember right his 66 was a CS 4 barrel hardtop. all cool cars. Any Idea where the 65 is now ?

Gone I think, but not 100% sure. Do you remember Bud Guiterre? Drove and worked for City Olds? My dad worked for both locations (actually rivals) in '65, so depending on what week it was determined who I was rooting for! City had a green '65 but only raced that one year. I have some other pictures of Sonny's '65 and a real neat newspaper ad from City showing my dad's picture. The ad was announcing '65 442 cars at a ridiculously low price.
By the way, Wayne and I took my car to Cecil last night and went an "easy" 11.83 on the second pass. No real tweaking or tuning, just Wsyne playing around a little with rpm on launch and shift points. Plenty left in it for sure. We were saying that we need to hook up with you and get the track rental to really dual in a few things. Only really made two runs and then came home. Very encouraged to say the least!

Test

Dave---Can't say I remember the green car but the DOB on my drivers license might have something to do with that.------- Great first time out and you have the right guy helping you. Did you forget we had the track all day Monday ? The weather was great and we had about ten Class cars . You could have made a 100 passes with no hurry up. I'll let you know when we do it again but it will be awhile. This week we have the IHRA race in Richmond and then the NHRA race at VMP in Dinwiddie next week. You should bring that thing down and get your feet wet. ------ Danny

Danny, as much as I hate to say it, Mondays are my busiest and most important day of my work week. There is that dreaded four letter word again.....WORK! Tough for me to miss a Monday. Wayne and his group are at MIR this weekend and I'm planning to spectate. My goal for this season is to compete in a few events with his guys (422 Allstars). I don't expect to really be a contender, but do wanna burn some rubber and row that Long shifter and Jerico. They run Capitol May 16 and I am gonna try to enter that one. They have a few rules regarding entry, and my car doesn't fit ALL of them, but as far as I know, mine is the only REAL nostalgia car as the others are "clones" or current builds. Gotta run, run 'em hard and go some rounds.
