More New Products

Just an update, talked with my Scat contact today at the PRI, small block rod IS coming. Best guess will be spring 2019. It will be an I-beam with the larger, 7/16, bolts. HP rating is 700+.
Also, Mahle Motorsports would like to expand their Olds offerings. Our discussion covered a std stroke 455 piston in .040 and .060 over to add to choices beyond .030.
FYI, the popular Wiseco is only offered in std and .030 however, and with the now archaic 1/16, 1/16, 3/16 ring pack. The Mahle would not only be lighter but also have the newest 1.00, 1.00, 2.00mm ring pack. Dish size would be the same as the Wiseco at 15cc.
Any comments and/or suggestions are welcome.
Also, there are more new parts coming in the spring/summer. I believe those parts will bring the level of available performance parts for both big and small block Olds to a new dimension.

P.S. Sorry for the misspelling in the title, been a long day.
Thanks.

Fixed the title. The product offerings sound exciting.

Those +.040" pistons for the 455's would be nice. I have a block that's +.030" now and might be able to use a set of +.040". Anything new or special for 455's ? Stroker kits, rods, girdles, etc. ? Turbocharger kits ?

Not too much other than the announcement coming spring/summer I mentioned.
Scat was a little curious about my SB Stroker crank but I don’t think they’re going to go down that road.
Canton will be offering all of their oil pans in a black powder coated option, Olds included. Nice stuff.
Lastly I did talk to my guy at Edelbrock about an air gap SB Performer RPM. They’re toying with that idea as well as some other revisions.

What about the full groove man bearings? I will be looking for a set. Either way, more options is awesome.

10-14#.
Christian- talked to both Federal Mogul and Clevite about half groove main bearings for small blocks. Both told me they are reviewing their lines for any and all options/upgrades.

air gap SB Performer RPM
I'd be down for one of those.
Sometimes it pays to procrastinate.

We will see if anything comes up in the next few months, won't need till after the new year. If not I will probably go with the Federal Mogul .010" main bearings, Smitty got .0025" clearance ground by Ohio crankshaft, I believe. The RPM air gap will be nice, hopefully they incorporate EFI bosses into the intake.

The price of 1 mm 1mm 2mm ring pack plus spacers was a huge factor in not running a modern ring pack for the average performance build.
It's nice to see this option available to the average Oldsmobile fan.

Their plan is to do EFI bosses on just about everything moving forward.
The FM Bearings I use are for a big block. They don’t make the good ones for a small block, yet.
But Clevite assures me they’ll have them yet this year. SCE now has an MLS head gasket for 403’s for less money than a Cometic, but they’re not .027, they’re .040.
Racetec told me he’d do a shelf stock 403 piston in a 4.375 if I want him to. Gotta get some feedback first.
And Mahle may do a piston specifically for my Stroker kits. 10cc contoured dish, no valve reliefs, which should be worth some extra HP. Really sweet looking.
