Is edelbrock performer olds 455 a good intake
I bought a really nice edelbrock performer for 75 dollars,I was wanting the rpm performer but how can you pass up a 75 dollar olds intake.im building a 455 30 over, edelbrock rpm aluminum heads , crane w 31 cam , would this intake be ok to use on it? Thanks

And the BB Olds Performer is NOT nearly the same as a SB RPM. Two different intakes with different runner sizes, lengths, and plenums to say the least.
OP- use the regular Performer for your build. And as Dave said ditch the idea of the W31 cam.

Hmmm not sure where you've been the last 5 years or so but....

So much for trying to research before posting.
Of course they will have different dimensions since one is for BBO and the other is for SBO. What I meant was that the Performer 455 is not the BBO equivalent of the Performer 350; it is more like the SBO Performer RPM.

Really just matters on what you wanting the motor to do I would suggest a roller over tappet cam. Also where you want your power to be. I have a DMR cam hydraulic roller cam in my 461 that purposes 550hp and 600lbs at 4000-6000 power range but I usely race my mine it .583 lift.
