Stock windowed 350 olds takes tons of nitrous

just a heads up to those out there spending money and building motors, i have a 71 350 with all of the goodies sitting on an engine stand waiting to go in the car, but i figured i would see what the stock 79 motor could take. Well after upping the jets to the max for the kit 180 hp, the car just keeps taking the hit. Ran a 13.0! This week!. Bottom line is the olds blocks are still pretty tuff. Spend 450 bucks on a sniper system and have a blast. For the record i am 4 degrees back in my timing, running 8.5 lbs if fuel pressure and running an almost square jet configuration, plugs are two steps colder. The car cruises like a dream and hauls *** at the flip of a switch. Small block to big block in a split second. Don't get too greedy with the tune and that sucker will keep on running

That's good news but a '79 MIGHT make 200hp stock so you're still under 400hp. Sorry but that's not THAT big of a stretch.
But thanks anyway.😀

I think the 330 can be sleeved to make a 307 for racing a much stronger block but still a 307 bore. I know lots of sleeves.
