The center ports have not been welded, nor has the riser been filled. One exhaust port riser on each head is filled already by Olds. Assuming they are 1969s. Just showing off, but possibly for sale.

Pretty neat.
Can you post more pictures?
Couple pic's from the intake side.
A couple pic's looking up a couple intake ports.
Couple pic's looking down at the head with combustion chambers facing up so we can get a good look at intake and exhaust pockets.
And of course a money shot of the Mondello stamp and date.

I'm sure there are folks on the board
that could afford them, just stirring the
pot so to speak. I would like to know what
they would go for as well. I would bet the
evil-bay would get the biggest buck though.
Good luck with whtever you decide to do with 'em.
If you build it, it will scream.

Nick, I enjoyed our conversation today! You definately have a piece of Oldsmobile history there. I was thinking maybe you should rebuild the engine to its former specs, we could dyno test it, Im sure Harold Bettes would like to write an article on this very special 455. Feel free to stop by when I test my 455 build, we can throw that head up on the flow bench and ck it out.

Mine are a stock set from what I have seen no porting will bring higher values.
Maybe with the passing of Joe you might get a buyer to step up but then if porting has kept up with cams and intakes I would think most would want a who and now Job done to modern day standards. Then again I have only seen one set with porting for sale. It would be interesting to have Bernard do a flow test on them and a set of pro comps on the same day same bench.

They would be worth more if they weren't messed with. They are only original once.Rare heads that are ported do not bring more money than rare heads that are unmolested. However,if there is a certain person that needs a rare head, and also has plans of porting them, then they would be willing to pay more.
I have F-heads with over $2k worth of work to them, but it is what I wanted.I would never expect to get a big amount for them.I also have my rarest of rare 71 w30 H-heads that I have considered having ported because that is what I want. The 71 will be a concours resto, and look 100% stock, but I still want it to be badass in the performance department.I know I can make 550/575 with it,but not sure if I can reach 600 with the factory intake & junk exhaust manifolds. We'll see.

Im sorry it took so long for the pics. Beleive it or not, because of the sheen of the iron, they were hard to photograph. I hope I took enough pictures to include what everyone wanted to see.

I got $800 for my pair of Mondello ported 'E' heads. Center divider welded up and cross overs blocked. 2.07/1.71 valves. They were ported in 1977. That is less than what I paid for them back in 77.

Race parts/cars I'm my experience and from what I see devalue a lot. I have seen 9 second. Cars exc. Engine with nice paint and the usualy ford 9 in. Go for 10k. I mean olds is a niche market to some extent so if it's the right part for the right buyer you will get what you want

Thanks Nickey for posting all those pictures.
From what I see, I would think these heads are probably what was called Street ported or a stage 1 Mondello job, which I would think would be more valuable than say a bracket port or race ported heads because of a broader market for them.
Hope you get what you are looking to get for them.

$2500.00 is the average price for what a nice pair of D-heads are going for these days.If you can get more for yours with the porting, that would be good, but you also need that certain person that has a legit car, wants to make it correct, but also wants it hotter than stock.Heck,if I had a car to put those on,I would buy them.I have my ported F's on my 72,and I always get people doing a double-check,when the see the heads.I plan on putting them on one of my W30's someday.I was thinking long-term when I had them done.
I also had a pair of D's that some genius ground the "D" off of each. The casting numbers were still on there to prove what they were, but I have no idea why someone would do that to those.

Thanks for the pictures they showed me what i wanted to see.
the glare from the lights can be a pain to deal with, been there.
Try using a piece of cloth over the light to cut down on the glare, or bounce it off a reflector.

That is sad if true. When you have your name all over your test car. You are a head porter and not even runing you own product. What does that say about your skill set as a head porter, and head teacher of a porting school?
What does that say about your product that you are selling?
