no they electric ones do not work. The reason you cant find super chargers is because of demand. If you are looking for a roots type super charger finding a manifold is hard they have popped up. Now if you want to run a vortech , procharger, there is a vendor here in illinois who makes billet mounting brackets for them he is also a dealer for procharger. i talked to him at one of the local bop races but forgot his name im sure he is on rop and someone here knows who im taling about.

i seen a single carb supercharger that ran out of time on ebay at $1700. it was for a olds 350. looks like i better put away more money. can i run a supercharger on my 307 or will it blow the motor apart?

I'm not an all knowing person familiar with superchargers, however it's all about boost pressures and compression. You can put a supercharger on anything, but like all other power adders it's the whole package that makes it work and it's only as strong as it's weakest link. Do your research and you'll find that there are more cost effective ways to gain power with a normally aspirated engine.

Most roots superchargers are more or less universal. It's the manifold and pulley drive that engine specific.
If you're new to SC, you're going to find it's a very expensive lesson. An SC on a stock engine with low boost will provide some extra power and be reliable. But if you add a lot of boost or drive it hard, you'll break stuff. You'll also need to know quite a bit about carb tuning and revising your ignition advance for it to work well.

If you want cheap boost turbo's are the way to go . A few years back i read a car craft magazine of guy with a 10 sec mustang built on nothing but junkyard parts and john deer turbos for dirt cheap and it had some 200 + runs on it. Granted if it is built properly it will cost just as much as a super charger.

I cant remember who the hell makes the billet brackets but he is a pro charger dealer. Im sure if you called procharger and asked them who sells in illinois and who makes billet brackets for olds they would help you. I know the guy is on rop but im not. I talked to him at byron 2 years ago and he was making the billet cnc mount brackets for them. this is bugging me now because i had a procharger i was gonna run on my sbo never did as i sold it but i know someone makes them .

http://72.22.90.30/phpBB2/viewtopic....t=supercharger

There's another ROP guy with a red 70 or 71 convertible that has a nice SC'd 350 but he hasn't posted in years

BDS sells new intakes... search for "blowers" not "superchargers" if you wants a Roots-style blower.

Here's the blower set-up in my F100...total cost under $1k but you have to do your homework.

And there's one for sale here... you have to work on your searching skills...

And another by Gary Dyer...

You can run a blower on a 307, just stay reasonable on the boost. Get a set up that you can run different pulleys on, allowing you to adjust the boost. Carbs also need to be set up properly or disaster could strike. Start building your solid main 350 with forged pistons, better rods and a girdle. The 307 will blow sooner or later, cast pistons and windowed mains won't last. Then you can really have fun. I have seriously considered it for my V6 Challenger. But modern efi, cross bolted mains with a factory forged crank and rods, go along way. Guys have gained 100+ hp/tq with 2 grand invested in the blower set up. Add headers, exhaust, adds even more power. The fastest is in the 11's, most are high 12's- low 13's. This is the old 3.5, new 3.6 should killer with the computer finally cracked.

eBay forced induction usually are missing A LOT of parts to make it fit and cost a lot more to make them work than just buying the correct S/C the first time. Don't know if a 307 could "handle" it or not, but would you think it's a good idea to slap a S/C on a stock engine that is 20+ years old?

Here's his posting about it on ROP:

http://www.realoldspower.com/phpBB2/...ic.php?t=84424

I was going through the thread on Friday and he's putting a new clutch in this weekend because he fried the old one. There are some real cool videos of him driving it around the Island (He lives in Hawaii).
