I have all the pieces cut and notched to fit, tacked in. The car will be measured and made square before any real welds are made. the main hoop/ frame rails barely fit undr filler panel and still fit within the specs in the instructions. I finally felt in over my head with all this work.

I've been slacking lately but the frame is almost done and I'm working on the rear end. It's getting narrowed to take advantage of the extra room with the back half and getting setup to work with the new suspension. Also bought new wider wheels, haven't decided on tires yet, I want to fill in the wheel wells but I don't like the steam roller/pro street look.

I finally filled my exhaust crossovers and started the bowl work and clean up. hoping to have the engine assembled this weekend, have everything except carb and headers. I also got the rear end cut for its final length, no welds yet but it should be done in the next day or two.

Pretty amazing dude. Back halving A '62 Cutlass is something I've always dreamed of. You appear to have it well under control and I'll be lurking diligently.

Been slow again but i got the upper shock mounts/crossmember fully welded and made a track bar. I had some extra rod ends from my previous rear end attempt so instead of spending nearly $500 on chris alstons track locator i made my own. I went for the x style, from my research it seemed like the way to go.

Hello,
Can you take another pic of your X-bar? the pic is dark and I can't see how the bar is connected.

Ill try to remember to take some more today. It connects with a clevis that shares a bolt with each of the lower 4 link bars, when you move the bar the clevis moves to keep the track bar parallel.

nice project!..

may i ask about the rear axle you have in the background behind the engine on this pic, is it parts from the 8,5" axle? if so i wounder what is the dim on the round axle flange with the boltpattern,is it 5x4,75" and what is the axle flange to boltpatterndisk? im asking cause of rear disk brake convertation and i have 8,5" rear end self but with 9" drums and 5x4,75" bolt pattern..

the rear end you can see in that pic is a 9.3 olds/pont. if you want to do the a disk brake conversion i used baking plates and calipers from a 76, i believe, cadillac seville and the rotors are either from the same vehicle or 78 trans am. might be the same rotors anyways. it has to be first year seville parts as after that they went to 5" bolt circle and the the calipers were different

How’s your car coming? My dad bought a new house with a big shop and he let me bring my 62 over. Might start working on it again when it warms up.

Small update I thought I posted already. Found out my 6-71 was a “small” one better suited to smaller displacement motors, I ditched it in favor of an 8v-71.
