9's with that tank you better have deep pockets it takes more than just the hp to make it boogie down the track.
Im not going to be a debbie downer but i doubt it does 14's in the 1/4 with a small block.

Putting one of these boats into the 14s is very good. Gearing is your friend. 4.10's. You need a healthy fresh 455 with good flowing heads. Cutlass headers will fit but on the drivers side the tubes need to be heated and bent down a tad. I would use an engine plate at least on the front to keep the block from flexing. If you want to get real serious you will need a rear engine plate also. Heavy car to get moving, build for torque. Plan out your "battle plan". I'm not sure of the amount of torque the stock drive shaft and/or the axles will handle. My turquoise 98's best was 14.13 @ 100 mph. It weighs 4680# without me. The pre 1971 B/C body cars are rear steering that may headers non existing. Gearing is limited, I have a 3.08 posi. The engine has gone 11.50s with a different camshaft in a G-body. The launches are hard on the block and it had a main bearing problem and I don't put slicks on it anymore. One thing for sure is you'll be the only 1972 Delta at the dragstrip. Good luck.
