I have a question about the tension rods.. I bought a car & one side is hanging down The trunk will not stay up without the other one in. Could someone tell me how do you get them back in if they come out?

Funny you should have that problem. I have exactly the same problem on my 1995 Regency. I thought I could put more tension onto the torsion rods, so I undid one side and it popped up to the rear deck. I took it to 2 bodyshops who told me they were 'looking at at least 2-3 hours' - all told with tax and 'shop supplies' would be around 250.00 Told 'em to get stuffed.

My trunk is being held open with a snow broom prop rod for now. I think I need to take the rear seat out to put a snipe onto the torsion rod and force it into one of the slots. A guy at work fabricated a J hook puller for me so when I can get leverage onto the prop rod, I might be able to pull it into position.

The 72 torsion rods shouldn't be all that hard to install because you have TONS of open space to work with....LMK how you make out

I have a collection of torsion rods. Do you have a length dimension? Thanks, Bob.

i still have the pair that i removed for the guy that started this thread. shipping was too high going to Canada, so he backed out. parts located in south carolina. $30 for the pair, plus shipping.....shipping inside the U.S. will be much easier on the wallet. greg. gtfolds@att.net (864)616-4619
