Do you need the black buckles or the brushed metal ones. Also the front buckles came in two sizes if brushed metal, small 1 1/4" square and the larger 1 3/4" ones. You can get them rewebed as well with new date tags put. I did that as it is nearly impossible to find great buckles with great webbing. Though I think I have two male NOS retractors for the front somewhere (for the small deluxe brushed metal female buckle)

my original seat belts were a silverish color, i have a beautiful set of 72 seat belts but there black not silver, i dont mind that there black i just dont want 72 belts in my car and the front male ends have holes in them for the shoulder straps, i never thought about getting them rerapped, are 72 buckles the same a 70?? and if so do you think i should use my 72 buckles and have 70 tags sewed on?? my 72 buckles and straps are very very nice the straps are super soft and bendable

They are not the same as 1970s - as you mentioned the 1972 male ends have the hole in them to lock the shoulder belt into them. !970s used separate buckles for each shoulder belt front and rear (if so optioned) Hard tops came with front shoulder belts in 1970, convertible shoulder belts were an option.

They did have black buckles in 70. Do you have the back seat ones as well. The cheapest thing at this point would be to buy the tags as you can purchase those on their own and sew them on. But you will still have 72 male ends in a 70 car - if that matters to you.
