66 valve covers

I’m looking for a nice set of valve covers for my 66 442. I need a pair that is good enough for chrome plating. Few pits and no big dents. Thanks, Frank

The 54 W30s in 1966 came with chrome valve covers, and such were available from the parts dept. as well.

Were the chrome valve covers part of the dealer conversion to the track pack?

Assuming the 66 procedure was the same as the 67 (minus the L-69 being present), the "W-30 OAI" package was:

The shroud
The air hoses
The ducts
All clamps and hardware
The long battery cables
Any other battery relocate stuff
The camshaft
The stiffer valve springs.

May have had lifters, too.

So, I think all that happened during a dealer track pack conversion was:

Move the Battery
Swap the Cam
Install the OAI.

No chrome VCs or oil cap, or red fenderwells, or special carb, trans, or rear end.

Oh, and they moved the 66 parking lights, and they jigsawed holes in the 67 core support, both for ducts.
