CAPSTONECLUB,

The current available repro spiral shocks will not work correctly on a stock ride height '70 442?

I'm guessing he wants that specific extended length because many shocks sold now are longer. If you jack the car up with the factory bumper jack, it won't go high enough to pull the wheels off the ground, or it will be extended to a point where it's unsafe. I realize most car guys here would never use their bumper jack. It's still nice to know it would work, though. I don't know the extended length of the current repro spirals. Maybe he has bigger tires, or higher springs.

If you don't find NOS,I have a pair of used ones, car was from Tucson originally and sat in the desert for over 25 years. Pit free, still tight, 250.00 pair plus shipping. Here is a link to my current Ebay listing for them with photos. http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Point-Ca...-/282569624709

No, the repops are 21 1/2 inches fully extended

When you put a 70-442 on a lift (assuming the springs are stock/original length), the springs do not even make contact on the top side when using repop shocks. Prior to dropping the car back down, you need to always double check to see that the springs are in the correct position. Since the repops are one inch longer than stock, you might notice a shift of the intended correct position of the spring itself. Not a huge deal, just not as originally intended by design and a bit of a nuisance.

Thank you for the information, as I was looking into getting a reproduction set for all four corners.
