Be aware there are different length actuators, all 68-72 are not the same.

Thanks for the heads up, I should have put more info in my post. The application is a drivers side, 2 door, 68 Cutlass Supreme. I believe the key difference is the length of the splined shaft - the backing plate thickness requires this to be longer than standard (?).

That's right, they have a longer shaft.
