The moldings around the windshield aren't chrome. They are stainless steel and can be buffed to a mirror finish if you have the equipment.

Hey Allan actually the ones on his are aluminum, probably anodized aluminum. Think they made the switch from stainless to aluminum in 73 or 74?

Weeeelllll doggeeey! I didn't know that. I thought they were all the same. I guess this is like the B85 belt moldings on the 70-72 A bodies. I think it would have been better if they had left it as stainless steel. Easier to maintain.

Yep...anodized aluminum. And, it will be a challenge to find a set that hasn't started to oxidize and get that cloudy film on them. You can't just buff that away without removing the anodizing.

I'm familiar with that cloudiness. My B85 moldings have to go to get new anodizing. Either that or I powdercoat it.

So does that mean all the metal trim on the 73-77 is anodized aluminum? And if so what should we be using to polish it?

The wheel well, rocker, drip rail moldings are stainless 73-77. The front and rear glass trim is anodized aluminum on the 76-77 for sure, the earlier years may have been ss. The vinyl top cars were painted with a grain texture (obviously). The quarter window and hood rear edge trim is chrome plastic on 75-77, 73's were ss for sure and possibly 74. The Supreme center hoid trim is chromed pot metal, as well as the front and rear lamp trim. Mothers polish works good, the ss trim you can ding out, sand and polish like new.

Always look across the manufacturer's lines for similar parts.
