I know its a old thread, I was trying to research if this bracket will work with 1972 M20 set up.. I own the exact bracket but I noticed the ones for sale online look different; holes line up the same although look different?

I think one type is for a console and the other for a non console. I had the wrong one on mine and the shifter hit the console in second and fourth gear. Changed bracket and it worked great.

the issue with mine is either I got wrong bracket or parts place sent me the wrong length rods (which they claim not possible).. with this bracket the rods are too long, wont line up when shifter in neutral. 72 M20 tailhousing which is period correct has 3 mounting holes, not sure how a different bracket will move the shifter back by an inch.

Yeah, not sure either. Start a new thread in General Discussion or Transmission and Driveline. Somebody on here will know.
