Complete 350 ci and turbo 350 for sale
Hello there gentleman......and ladies,
Was gauging interest in my rocket 350 turbo 350 combo running in the car as you read this - runs great and shifts firm as could be. I'm getting ready to swap in an LS motor and 4l60E carb package. Motor was rebuilt a few years ago as per the previous owner and tranny has a shift kit, hits nice when you drive nice and hard when you drive hard. I will get some #'s off the block this weekend. I know it has # 5 heads. I figure it's a good time if anyone was interested that you could actually see what your buying and then I would yank it. I'm in the middle of Long Island NY. Anyone interested you could call me or email me here.

I'm going to say no - I believe the original tranny in the car was a 2 speed power-glide not a turbo 350 and this motor is from a 68-70 according to the #'s but not the original engine to the car.

I'm not really sure about the price. I'll post some pics and get the block #s and come up with something fair. I'm not sure about the build. The guy I bought the car from had a stroke and really couldn't tell me or he didn't remember much. I think it was just freshened up.

Well its a live running great combo - still in the car for someone to hear with a motor from 68-70 - I'm thinking a firm fair price would be 1500.00. Would love for some of you knowledgeable guys
to tell me if that's fair.

I'll probably open up a can-o'-worms here, but for a good-running 350/TH350 combo that the buyer can drive, with unknown internals or mileage, I'd say somewhere between $500 and $800, depending on exactly what can be discerned or discovered about it.
Now, some guys here think I tend to estimate low, but I tend to think they're spendthrifts, so it all depends on your point of view.
Note that I am NOT planning on driving down to LI and buying this thing from you, so I have no reason to intentionally call it lower than it is.

Naah, I'm from NY - Yankees all the way, though I don't make a big deal about it the way fans of a certain team that always looses do.
As for the car, bought it for $900, registered, running well, and on the road, and painted it with less than $150 worth of spray cans, so when I say I buy cheap, I mean it.

On that engine, if it has good compression, pulls smooth and doesn't knock with good oil pressure, it would be hard to replace for under $1500.
Machining alone can drain the bank and baking costs all add up very quickly. $800 is a great deal for a good running engine too.
I was just looking at the cost of an "engine-kit" for a flathead 4-cylinder 1946 ****** jeep engine and it was $1450 just for the kit, but a full kit with pistons and valves and guides and springs (no rods or recon crank) the recon crank was another $800 - plus $200 core fee. So, if I spend $500 on machining and assemble the engine myself, I am in it for a "refurb" for $3k. pay the shop $1k for assembly, and you're at $4k.
Olds are not real cheap to rebuild either. My local machinist wants $800 to do a set of 455 heads here in northern California.
It sounds like someone will get a nice running engine.
