sport steering wheel

This is the larger sport wheel from a cutlass or 442, its about 15 3/8" diameter. this is easily the stickiest and most worn sport wheel i have seen. I cleaned it up and put the cover on it for a project car and then it never got used. The cover looks and feels good, I would not recommend using this wheel without a cover on it. The spokes are in nice condition.

$80 shipped in the US

Mine was ridiculously sticky too. Almost like chewing gum all over it. I used a mild abrasive Scotch Bright cloth and prep-sol and rubbed to removed all the sticky mess. Then I used Meguiar's Natural Shine Protectant and it looks great. Of course it is smooth (almost all of them are), but it has stayed good for a couple years. I had to repeat the procedure after 2 or 3 years. It was starting to get sticky, but not even close to what it had been.

Soap and water isn't going to do it.

Hey thanks for the tip Brown I have another one on my car and it was a little sticky but this one was crazy sticky after I cleaned the wheel (soap and water) it wasnt sticky but I read here that it would just come back (the stickiness) thats why i put the cover on it

There's a Scotch spray product out there I have some at home but I'm am currently away and I forget the name. But it's designed to remove old glue from tape on any surface. This stuff is awesome I use it on everything. Breaks down grease oil anything. I bet it would make short work of a sticky steering wheel. I even used it on old alum rims couldn't believe how good they came out. I will post the name when I get back it's a blue and red spray can. Get it at a office supply. Removed ink on leather seats.
