Real W27 rear cover

I have for sale a real w27 rear end cover. This cover is cast and porous, with machined edges, and really nice crisp lettering. I cleaned it and I have taken pictures of it next to a reproduction, and you can see the difference. Unfortunately, I am unable to post pictures up at this time. Please text me, and I will send you as many pictures as you would like. It is hard to gauge the value of this rear end cover, because upon research, the only other cover I saw for sale, was a NOS rear cover that they were asking 3500 for. I would like to start out at 1500. I am open to best offers or trade for NOS 1970 to 1972 Cutlass front fenders. My name is Nick, and my number is 720 275 3124. I am located in Denver Colorado.

The cover is wet in some of the photos because they were taken right after washing it.

Its hard to take a good pic. This shot shows the condition of the cover and also the porous casting finish.

A type 8.5

All, my 71 455-th-400, 442s, born with rear axle, is exactly what the posters axle looks like, 8.5 with scalloped cover, the one Brian describes as A type

Interesting thread, (no hijack intended) - for further comparisons, here are pics of my 10-bolt cover which I believe to be an original dealer part based on how long it's been on the car (at least 20 years and 2 owners ago) and the shinier appearance of the repro covers. These are very cool period pieces.
