How do you attach the two cables?

If you are referring to the floor vents then, A/C kick panels don't have cables.

Kick panel

No air conditioning.
There are two push/pull cables, one short and one longer. I can't figure out how or where to connect the longer one. Looks like it goes through firewall and connects to a cowl vent somehow.
Totally stumped. The passenger side kick panel was missing from car.

I'll take a look at my non A/C car and see what I can learn.

What I recall is the one cable opens the floor vent and the other opens the upper dash vent. If that helps.

Any idea how cable attaches to dash vent and how to access it?

I took pictures of the non A/C kick panels showing how they work. But I couldn't down load them. Hopefully I'll have them posted in an hour, if not I'll try again tomorrow.

How do you remove these kick panels with the pull vents? I popped off the vent and took the screws off. I can't seem to pull out whatever is thru the cutout going into the fender? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

There tuff. LOL
I had to finesse them off. The vent is 3" thick and kick panel has to be pulled strait out and then pulled forward to remove them from the car.

There are three or four little screws around the vent that have to be removed prior to trying to pull them out. They are under the slotted vent.

I will give it another go tomorrow.... I pulled the plastic vent off, removed 4 or 5 sheet metal screws under that which hold the panel to the car. The assembly is loose but just can pull it thru the hole, I'm afraid if I use too much force I may crack or break something? Thanks...

What's likely putting up a lot of the resistance is the factory-applied chalking around the backside of the kickpanel. These Non-AC kickpanels were typically LOADED with chalk to seal them up well to the metal surrounding the part of the panel that protrudes out the backside of the panel.

The chalk is not a hardening type chalk....it'll still be soft but it's a grey rope chalk type material and really sticks well.

Still, be careful when pulling and prying buy my bet is that it's the chalk behind there making it tough.
