Hmm, on the surface he is keeping within the rules, but you are probably right.

Not really. You're not allowed to offer anything for sale outside of eBay.
(If it's offered on eBay, it has to be sold through eBay).

He's offering to part the car, which is to say, he's offering to sell a lot of parts, outside of eBay, while ostensibly trying to sell a lugnut through eBay.

Sorry, but how is this offering to sell parts outside of eBay?????? Quote from his ad:

1966 olds delta 88... Parting out.. This auction fir 1 used lugnut..... If you see something off this car you need i can make a buy it now auction for you for needed parts

A 'buy it now auction' is still an eBay transaction.

THAT's how he skirts the truth.

I've had their text scanner flag my description text for asking buyers to contact me if they want me to post a bunch pistons as a single lot, instead of as individual items.

You really think he's going to make a B-I-N auction, instead of just sell the parts for cash or PayPal?

No, I agree with what you are saying. All I'm saying is that it 'appears' that he is following the rules. Didn't mean to start an argument.

I'd buy it for $50. It's worth a whole lot more.

By the way, that inaccurate $50 price is a violation. I'll leave it for now, but I'll report him later if someone else doesn't.

Hard to tell what this one would look like inside, but doesn't seem too bad for the price.

Classy SOB seller with '68 decklid trim- FITS ALL MODELS!

SOB = Some Other Brand of course

I had to point out to the seller that it does not really fit all the A-bodies, as-is. That's not honest.

We see the nature of the seller. So, I had to reply in kind.

The ad
http://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e11050...AMOTORS%3A1123

dirt cheap considering the rarity
last time seen, never.

My comment to the seller:
So, the cut line for the shorter version- did they not cut the part short BEFORE chrome plating and paint? Therefore, unless the buyer wants to live with nonfactory fugly ends, or cut it, then have it chromed and painted.... it really only fits the body type using the longer part... right? It would be wise to clarify that on a thousand dollar part. Make sure everybody is on the same page.

ePay genuine R-407567 Intake with PCV Nipple

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-1971-19...kAAOSw4UtWSSj6

dirt cheap at 200 cleaned

Interesting that the date code "55" is fwd of the carb, near the FIRING ORDER wording. And, that the "R" ID in the depression aft of thermstat has screw heads around it. So does the "407567" Casting Number, which is very unusual for an Olds casting.

These do not come around often anymore, so if you can use it, grab it!

Came across this using www.searchtempest.com:

If I recall, he had a starting bid of $1,200 for something like the past year.

Craigslist Parts Find Ad

Hi, I came across this post from Craigslist posted yesterday and it may be a good deal for someone close.

http://lacrosse.craigslist.org/pts/5329481809.html

1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass/442 Parts (La Crosse)

"1968-1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass and 442 parts for sale.

I have a large collection of parts that I am looking to clear out of my garage and basement. The parts range from small Cutlass/442 trim parts all the way up to the very rare W-30 specific high performance parts. These parts were collected over many years of being in the Oldsmobile collector car hobby.

Most of the parts I have came directly out of 1970 442s, but many of the parts will also work with 1971-72 Cutlass/442s as well... some will even work on the 1968-69 cars.

A partial list of what I have:

Six 1970 Olds engines: Two bare 455 blocks, Three complete 455 engines, One Olds 350 engine
Cylinder heads
Crankshafts
W30 aluminum intakes
Automatic transmission out of a 1970 442
Two 1970 Muncie M21 4-speed transmissions
Hurst 4-speed shifter, freshly rebuilt
1970 Cutlass/442 Hoods
OAI Ram Air air cleaner assemblies
Sport Steering Wheels
Nice front and rear bumpers
Two sets of bucket seats
Two very nice consoles (one automatic and one 4-speed)
Nice used original dog dish hub cap sets
Number of used 1970 only flat lip fenders
Radiator core supports
Complete AC setup
14" x 7" Wheels
Glass
All kinds of trim parts

And lots lots more! Way too much to list!

The one picture shows mainly just the engines and a few other parts... that is a small fraction of what I have. It would take me weeks just to go through and inventory everything and put a list together... I'd rather not do that. Come and see what I have and make a deal on as many parts as you want.

If you have any specific parts that you need just give me a call and I'll see if I have it. Or call to set up a time to come and see what I have.

608 - seven nine zero - five one nine six

The more you buy, the better deal you get!"
