OAI Air cleaner top - stupid pricing

I haven't seen the embossing on the white PF30 filters before. I see the box mentions "1968," so I assume the embossing was only on the earliest units?
I have two white PF30 filters (without embossing). I got lucky and picked them up cheap. They were in an eBay auction along with two PF7 filters. I bid but lost. On a whim I e-mailed the winner and offered to buy the PF30s from him, on the off chance that he only wanted the PF7s. And that's exactly what happened. I think I only paid $20 - 30 for the two.

Do you know anything about the car it came from? In particular, its approximate build date?
The reason I ask is that my OAI adapter has the same date code stamping as yours, with a few faint line stamped between the 12 thicker spokes of the wagon wheel. It's easy to interpret the dots shown on the eBay unit, but I'm not sure whether those faint lines are supposed to designate months or if they were just defects in the original mold.

Unfortunately no - all he told me is that it had been sitting in a storage shed in Colorado since the early 80's.
