Yes that is correct the car was assembled the first week of February of 69 which is why the trans and block were date coded in 68, a lot of early 69s had 68 parts

Nope, production for 69 models started in July or August of 68. Feb of 69 would have been more than 1/2 way thru the model year, so its not a left over. Someone swapped it out sometime in the past. Its no big deal, its still a 68 442 automatic. Im sure if you look at the VIN stamp on the drivers side, it was originally installed in a 68 442.

The "OG" was a good transmission.

How are you guys telling that it belongs to a 4-4-2? Is there an OG code designation somewhere that I'm missing?

Thanks, but illegible on my phone. My TH400 has the tag plus a stamp.

No matter. To OP: Best of luck with sale, although you might want to hold onto it as a carrot for possible future buyers.

What has all been done to it? Who rebuilt it? Do you have receipts? Thank you.

Understood, but that transmission isn't worth much except as it relates to your car.
