1970 350ci W-31 V-8 4-speed engine
1970 350ci W-31 V-8 4-speed removed from a 1970 Cutlass S Holiday coupe (production figure is 1029), making this ultra rare in my opinion. When was the last time you have seen one of these motors for sale? How many had a factory 4-speed?
Intake # 406114 aluminum with "OLDSMOBILE W-350"
Rochester carb stamped: 7040255
Distributor stamped: 1111975 9M2
Engine casting: 395558
VIN derivative: 30M27xxxx (Lansing built)
Heads: 403 859 "6"
Damper is correct for W-31
Water pump: 404847 "X"
Crank: 4-speed manual
Engine turns freely. Mileage is unknown on this motor. Recommend this motor be rebuilt.

Well I guess some have different views on restoration. If the VIN and data plate is present, any car is “restorable”.
anyway, northeast car. All the typical rust and more. But engine is all original. Lucky for leaky gaskets. Damper is in terrific shape. So the engine bay was protected well from the elements.
