1967 olds 442 engine

Hello I have a 1967 Olds 442 eBlock 400 motor that was recently rebuilt very low miles was a stock rebuild. I would like to trade it for a 455 curious if somebody's looking for a motor for their 67 I'm located in Oregon I believe it is out of a California car because it has the provisions in the c heads for emissions also has the numbers stamped in the passenger side front cylinder head that all 442s have. Motor is complete just missing original intake manifold. Motor runs very well has tons of torque I have 231 gears in my car and I still can't keep the tires from spinning

Might want to list the numbers the head has. Pictures of the stamping and casting numbers and overall condition are good. Also, please put a price on it, you can "price OBO" if you need to.

Agree on posting the head numbers. Pictures would really help as well.

Not all 442 engines have "the same numbers" as they were part of the unique engine sequence numbering. Also not sure what vehicle has 2.31 gears? The worst I ever heard were 2.41 in late 80s G-Body vehicles.

I have a brand new top end I was going to put on this motor aluminum heads different cam and so on just figured if somebody was looking to restore a car and needed a motor. figured it would just be better to start with a different short block and keep this motor all Correct for somebody that needed one for a numbers matching rebuild. I'm just looking for a 455 shore block don't need heads don't need intake manifold just a short block. just trying to do something in the local Oregon area not wanting to ship anything

To the best of my knowledge, there was never a 2.31:1 gear ratio in any type "O" 8.5" 12-bolt cover rear end.

Decided I'm probably just going to be selling what I have and going to an LS motor I have the motor that is in the picture that has roughly 10,000 miles on it brand new set of aluminum heads and ARP fasteners brand new in the box brand new 850 CFM brawler race carb new comp nitride treated camshaft double roller timing chain. Basically everything for a new top end. was going to put these heads on this motor but now going to go a different route. Aluminum heads have already been mildly ported and have new set of Harlan sharp roller rockers and all gaskets to make this work. All parts are brand new in box. Also have brand new patronix billet flamethrower 3 distributor that has been curved for this motor that is also brand new
