1966 "E" block '66 442
E block removed from a California '66 442, owner died three years ago and I'm helping his wife sell off his stuff. Engine was removed to install a 455 and build a modified '66 442. She doesn't remember if the engine was running or not. Includes everything in the photos. Carb was disassembled at one time and I think it is complete. Valve covers and rockers had been removed but I reassembled everything. Crank shaft is NOT drilled for a pilot bearing. Can ship on a pallet by freight, should be around $300, I have shipped two engines this way in the last year. $1650 and you pay the freight. email rgreen@q.com.

Is it possibly a 1967? Say that only because valve covers have the sticker on them like the 67 400. Either way good deal if your looking to go ba k to original..I subscribe more to the purists side of the hobby. Good luck on the sale

It is definitely a '66 engine, came out of an original '66 442. Previous owner must have put the decal on the valve cover. The valve cover breather is a '66, one year only. That alone would bring $75.

67 would have C heads and the decal is in the wrong location.

There's some who think the C Heads are the better of the two. I think that came mostly from Joe Mondello who said the C's were better but I think his opinion was that because of the supply. The B heads were a one year only where the C's were 3 years use.

That's actually a pulse reducer, not a regulator. They were used because of the bad Q-Jet design that had the toilet bowl valve. The tri carbs did not use the reducer.
