1964 Olds Slim Jim at Charlottee Motorfest

Hey Fellas, just removed this trans from my 1964 Olds 98. Slipped in F and R. Converting to a TH400. Free to anyone whom may want it. Based on my extensive experience with these, most likely just needs a minor rebuild with new seals. Fluid was bright red, so no major clutch problems. Going to Charlotte Motorfest, On Friday. Could drag it up there. PM me or text if interested. Taking to work, on Monday to steam clean.

Wish you were in NM. Good luck with the TH400 conversion.

Let us know how your TH400 conversion goes. A spare Slim Jim is a good thing to have for someone running one of these. My 64 98 had one. It wasn't a good transmission IMHO.

OK, steam cleaned the old Slim Jim, she is looking ALLOt better. Still, beauty is only skin deep. And definetly going to need to be opened up to see what's wrong. Which I may do, if there are no takers.

As far as ever putting it back in this 98??? Forget about it. And also plan on same conversion to my Starfire Convertible, only may hold out for a 700R4. Can't wait to drive this car with a decent transmission. Here is the link for all the TH400 progress.

Just a FYI- I got a little under $40 for scrap value for a Slim Jim. I couldn't get rid of that trans to someone who was willing to pick it up (i was almost giving it away practically for free)
