10 bolt 8.5 ring and pinion 3.73 3.42 gear sets original used gm
10 bolt cover - 10 bolt ring corporate GM 8.5 1970-2016 ring and pinions.
1971 1972 Cutlass or 1973-1977 cutlass 1984-1987 442

12 bolt olds will ALWAYS have 27 spline pinion the corporate GM 8.5 will always have 30 spline pinion.

Why is that? Respectfully, there is at least two Olds rear ends that Im aware of that had 342:1, 10 bolt, 8.5" ring geared rear axle assemblies. The 67 thru early 70 A body "Type Os" and late 70-72 A body "GM Corporates". Which are they?
The 373:1s are likely out of an 85-87, 442...also an 8.5", 10 bolt. monzaz is an Olds guy so Ill assume its not another brands 373:1 gear set?

It wouldn't matter if the 8.5" 3.73 gear set was out of an '85-'87 442 or a Chevy truck; they would be the same thing and fit the same applications: any GM 8.5" 10 bolt corporate rear.

12 bolt olds- get use to calling the rear that. 8.5 is just the ring gear diameter...
dana 44 is 8.5
gm has 12 bolt olds 8.5
10 bolt corp 8.5
Only gears available for the Olds 12 bolt are 3.42 and 3.90 aftermarket Richmond gear.
3.73 was never an available 12 bolt olds gear.

That is absolutely correct... I always reference 'O' type as 12 bolt OLDS I never reference the ring gear size because it really measures 8.4 ...which I wish they would have done from day one.
JimOh and if you look at the picture you can see that they are not 12 bolt olds gears. The shafts look totally different as they use totally different crush sleeves. (example pictured)
Info is up that should clear the whole ad.

Just a little info. The O Type 12 bolt was first used in 66.

Last run at these gears
We just got one more set of 3.73 gears and a set of 3.08 both VG used GM ORIGINAL GEARS FOR the corporate 8.5 10 bolt from 1971- 2018
2 sets of 3.42 are here also.
