Blue engine paint
Yes I did a search first and couldn't find the answer I was looking for. While my engine is out I want to do repaint . I prefer the darker version of the metallic blue. First pic is similar to mine which is painted with hirsch. I don't care which is correct

phil·is·tine:
filəˌstēn,-ˌstīn
1. a member of a non-Semitic people of ancient southern Palestine, who came into conflict with the Israelites during the 12th and 11th centuries BC.
2. a person who is hostile or indifferent to culture and the arts, or who has no understanding of them.
Origin:
Early 19th century: originally with reference to a confrontation between university students and townspeople in Jena, Germany, in the late 17th century; a sermon on the conflict quoted “the Philistines are upon you” (Judges 16), which led to an association between the townspeople and those hostile to culture.

What does Philistine's have to do with the price of tea in NY?
The OP is looking for a darker metallic blue. I haven't gotten that far with my 455 so I cannot be of assistance. However this > Search is your friend as the difference has been discussed several times. I cannot recall at the moment who carries the darker color.

It was a joke.
He said he didn't care whether the new color was identical to the original color.
I said, "Philistine," thus accusing him of lacking discernment because of his stated lack of concern about the color's originality.
Clearly I'm playing over the heads of the crowd in here tonight.

I made a joke about how over-serious some people get about the accuracy of their restorations.
It was meant to be funny, as jokes generally are, and was at the expense of those who would criticize you for not caring whether the color was "authentic."
It went over your head.
I explained it for you.
Now I just explained it more.
No need to get your nose out of joint.

Thanks for helpful replies. I searched again for about an hour and still didn't find a definitive answer. What I think I found is that hirsch and tamraz seem to be more aqua and fusick and supercars seem to be more blue.
Thanks
Thanks

It was lost on me like the MH370 flight over the ocean.
I thought he was recommending a supplier by the name "Philistine"
I need to read more, evidently.

Yes, a smiley or lol or JK at the end would have made a big difference

Fwiw-about a year ago I bought one can each from Supercars, Fusick, Tamaraz's and Mondello. Fusicks was like the picture in the first post as in greener, Supercars was bluer just like the waterpump picture listed, Tamaraz's was more silver colored and Mondellos was wayyyy dark purplish blue. In my personal opinion I have matched original 455 valve covers closest to the supercars paint color and a few but not as many to the Fusicks paint color I guess it depends on the batch the factory used or where it was assembled. To answer the qustion I would go with Supercars if the darker blue color was wanted.
