soft edge masking
I have been looking at soft edge masking foam for my jambs. has anybody used it. advice is it worth the extra money. it seems like it would cut down masking time and give better results. I have always just masked the jambs with paper and tape then wet sanded the edges and rubbed them out.
thanks for the advice

A friend of mine uses it in his body shop and says it works well, but he said that in the past, that painting in the jambs where the jamb meets the quarter (or anywhere that one surface met another at a 90 degree angle, ), that you could soften the edge by letting the tape overlap at the front edge of the quarter panel, then tape paper to the quarter to avoid over spraying onto the quarter. The spray will then blow under the tape overlay , and won't leave a paint line. Larry
