Interior coating/painting

Hello all, I am new to this so please help a rookie out. How should go about coating/painting my interior before installing carpet? No holes and minimal rust in the area.

Depends on how much time and money you want to spend. You can get away with doing nothing if you live in an area where rust is not an issue. You can use of the shelf brush and rustoleum since the area will be covered up and no one will see it. Or you can spend more money on any of the other resto metal coatings.

This is what I did back when I lived on the Gulf Coast to hopefully prevent rusting. Now that I'm in Phoenix I don't really have to worry about it.

Thanks guys I live in San Antonio and rust should not be too much of an issue. Looks like a brush and Rustoleum for me!

My ol stompin grounds. I agree, not much of a rust issue there. I live North of you and did absolutely nothing to mine prior to new interior.

on the other hand

I live in Jersey, I used por 15 after I removed any loose rust just for my own piece of mind, it isn't cheap but it is inexpensive in the overall cost of things for a piece of mind, I used a little over a quart on my interior floor,
