Paint between the roof frame

Paint between the roof frame
I've got a '77 Coupe and have some rust between the roof and the inner frame of the roof. What's the best way to clean and paint that so it doesn't get worse...without turning the car upside-down?

I'd probably just do the best job I could cleaning and wire brushing then I'd hit it with a rust converter/rust encapsulator paint and call it good.

Do they make paint with a hose on the end to get to small spaces? I know Eastwood makes the header paint that goes inside the tube, too but there is a lot of grid on the roof of the '77s that it's inaccessible with a wire brush or anything but a spray nozzle. I'll try an unused nozzle from brake parts cleaner or something and see if I can affix it to the paint spray can.

... Or just use underbody sealant - it's black, soft, and thick, but since the underside of your roof is out of the weather, it should seal it just fine, and is likely to work better than thin spray paint applied through a tube.
It will probably smell tarry for a while, but that should wear off after a few days in the summer sun.

edit: Yeah, that frame sealant would probably be good, too.
