69 442 Trophy Blue Paint
I am restoring a 69 442 convertible that has the original drive train. I want to keep the restoration as original as possible. It is ready for paint and the original color is Trophy Blue Poly. I have given my painter the paint codes from PaintRef.com. Chip Code 51, GM Code WA3855, Ditzler PPG 2075 and the cross reference codes. He wants to use PPG paint but is unable to come up with the mixing data for this paint and neither is his PPG Supplier. I thought I would try this forum to see if any of you can help me come up with the information needed to get this original color. I have read on this forum that scanners do not work well on metallic paints so I don’t see that as being an option. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

You may also want to find a panel on your car that still has the original paint, like the underside of the trunk lid, or an area under the carpet that hasn't faded from exposure, and see if your paint guy can mix to match it.

1969w3155,
Thanks for your response. I guess the mix and match might be my only option. I restored a 1963 Chevy and had no trouble getting the original paint mixture. I don't understand why it is so hard to find the data for the Trophy Blue for a 6 year newer car.

Problem Solved
I want to update this thread and let everyone know that the PPG supplier was able to get the formula for the Trophy Blue Poly. They had to go to PPG corporate to get it. I started doing some of the jamb and trim painting yesterday and it looks great.

Hi,
I just came across your posts, and I am the proud and long time owner of a 1969 Trophy blue Cutlass S convertible. Mine has the parchment bucket seat/console interior with compaticolor black carpeting, dash and bottom of door panels, plus a white convertible top. I would LOVE to see pictures of your finished product. I am in Omaha, if you are ever near me please give a shout!
Thanks!
